About Vsg	English (USA)
The core mission of the Vietnamese Studies Group listserv is facilitating the exchange of academic knowledge about Vietnam and Vietnamese history, society, culture, and politics. Although not all contributors to the VSG list are professional scholars, all contributors are required to uphold the values of professionalism and mutual respect befitting a scholarly community. To this end, list contributors must observe the following rules: 1. Communication shall be of a professional nature and not explicitly personal; 2. Participants shall show respect for the professional and personal integrity of others; 3. Participants shall assume that others act in good faith; 4. Participants shall identify themselves on posts with a full name and either institutional affiliation or city & state/province/country of residence; 5. Participants shall respect the privacy of others. (Please do not post personal contact details to the list. If there is a request for contact information, please respond to that request off-list.); 6. Participants shall respect copyrights. (Please do not post copyrighted news articles to the list. You can refer to a URL, or selectively cut and paste materials as part of a discussion); Enforcement (as mandated at the 2011 Hawaii meeting): If a participant violates the rules of conduct, then the Executive Committee will issue a warning off-list to the participant. If the participant receives more than two (2) warnings for the same or different threads, the Executive Committee reserves the right to remove the participant from the list for some period of time. Using Vsg
To post a message to all the list members, send email to vsg@u.washington.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Vsg
Subscribe to Vsg by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. UW community: If you have a computer account at the University of Washington, and you intend to subscribe to this list, change something about the subscription you already have, or access private list archives, please log in first. Once you have logged in, this page will automatically fill in your email address. For persons outside the UW If you do not have a UW NetID and want to subscribe, enter your email address and name (optional) below. A password will be assigned to you and sent to your email address.
