Tokeland/Grays Harbor

A belated post for sightings from Oct. 13-14. Three Bar-tailed Godwits were
still among the several hundred Marbled Godwits at the Toke Pt. marina. A
Palm Warbler was heard and barely glimpsed behind the Chateau Westport. The
most unusual sighting was of a pretty hefty bull Northern Fur-Seal resting
on the sand along the small bay at Westhaven State Park in Westport. This
mammal is seen in migration fairly regularly offshore on Westport pelagics.
Has anyone else out there ever seen one hauled out on shore in Washington or
