Job announcement: A summer position for a field assistant is available
beginning June 1 through August 31. Exact dates negotiable. We will be
gathering observational data and conducting behavioral experiments for a
restoration project on common murres. Duties include conducting behavioral
watches of breeding murres on the outer coast of Washington. This requires
long hours of observations from exposed cliff-tops as well as some time
entering data on a computer. A successful candidate will be willing to
work independently outdoors, be able to drive a 4WD truck on beaches, take
careful and legible notes, and be able to maintain a sense of humor in
inclement weather. Preferred candidate will have completed or is nearing
completion of a bachelor's degree in biology or other wildlife-related
major. Compensation is $10/hr, which includes lodging on the coast
approximately 4 nights/week. Please send a resume or cv plus contact info
