Tweets;

Walked the loop at Nisqually NWR this morning (9:00-13:00). Cloudy, but dry
and mild (low 50's). Highlights included:

SANDHILL CRANE -4 (feeding in the field just north of the barns)
GREAT HORNED OWL -2 (large, somewhat downy young in nest hollow near barns)
EURASIAN WIGEON - 7 males
GREATER YELLOWLEGS - 4
LEAST SANDPIPER - 2
WOOD DUCK -2
HOODED MERGANSER -7 (including 2 males competing for a female at Ring Dike.
Spectacular!)
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER - 28 (mostly "Audubon's" in alternate plumage, some
singing)
VIRGINIA RAIL - 1 calling
BRANT -2
PILEATED WOODPECKER -2

Still a large number of AMERICAN WIGEON, GADWALL and GREEN-WINGED TEAL.
Watched several RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD courtship displays. Many TREE and
VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS. Overall a great day.

Good Birding!
