Master Birder Program 2003-2004

Seattle Audubon's Master Birder program will begin in February, 2003.
Instructor Dr. Dennis Paulson and an array of expert guest speakers will
lead participants toward an in-depth understanding of ornithological
concepts and the identification, behavior, habitat and distribution of
Washington birds.

Applicants should be strong intermediate birders and prepared for the
level of commitment that this
program requires. The "fee" for the program is a minimum of 100 hours of
volunteer service to Seattle Audubon over 3 years. Participants may
choose to volunteer in any of Seattle Audubon's education, advocacy,
preservation or scientific programs.

Classes will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm at the Center
for Urban Horticulture from February through April, 2003, and then
continue in February and March of 2004.

Applications will be available October 1. For an application or more
information, contact Mary Anne
Thorbeck at 206-324-8278 or
