Dear Tweeters,

The little pond beween Lyman and Hamilton (Skagit
County) hosted ten Pectoral Sandpipers this morning. I
was getting ready to give up on this pond after two
days with no shorebirds, especially since the water
level was dropping and grass starting to grow up in
the middle of the pond. However, there they were this
morning, ten PESA with yellow legs, looking a like
giant Least Sandpipers. They were right by the road,
where the Solitary Sandpipers were a week ago. This
pond is on the north side of Lyman-Hamilton Road,
between Hamilton Cemetery and Healy Roads, east of
Lyman. Also present were three Mallards.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
