Hi Tweets,

Yesterday I spent a few hour searching for the elusive Snowy Owls with no
success. I was able to located a single WHITE-WINGED SCOTER at Perch Point
on Potholes Reservoir. This has been one of my nemesis birds. I have chased
this bird across the breadth of Grant County without success until
yesterday. Thank goodness it is finally found, now to find the other 60+
nemesis birds.
A drive across O'Sullivan Dam yielded a 1w THAYER'S GULL, but not much
else.
Cold weather has frozen much of the open water and the water birds are
concentrated in a few places on Moses Lake making viewing very easy. Neppel
Landing Park and the attached open waters to the north are great birding
right now.
Flocks of DUNLIN continue, as do a few peeps. At least 40 Dunlin were
observed and two LEAST SANDPIPERS were among the Dunlin.
BONAPARTE'S GULL are plentiful and float about hunting at close range.
Five Yellow-rumped Warblers hunted among the maples in McCosh Park in Moses
Lake. They appeared cheerful despite the 19 degree weather.

Cheers
