Hello All,
Merrylynn and I decided to do a county Big Day before gas prices spiral
upwards towards 5 dollars a gallon. So we hit the road at 6 AM and got home
at 9:15 PM. & 234 miles later. We totaled 134 species with highlights as
follows:

Peregrine Falcons.........2 ad. in Wallula Gap.

Greater Scaup................1 drake at Iowa Beef Ponds.

Red-necked Phalarope.....1 male on the Iowa Beef Ponds......early date for
us in this county.

Great Egret..........1 ad. at McNary NWR, HQ display Pond. We have very few
July records.

Least Flycatcher.....1 bird along upper Jasper Mountain Rd.. Second county
record.

Great Gray Owls..........2 ad. & 3 sub-adults along upper Jasper Mountain
Rd.. This must have been a late brood to still have dependant young.

Broad-tailed Hummingbird.......1 female at Tom Lamb's hummingbird heaven.

It was a beautiful day 54-87 degrees F. and 0-8 mph wind.

Later Mike
