Hello Tweets,OBOLers, and NW Inlanders,etc.

The breeding-plumaged Lesser Sand Plover was again present this afternoon/evening by 7+ birders at Stanley Lake behind the New Fellowship Church in Gearhart,Oregon between 4pm-7:30pm with great,up-close views of the bird,as well as distant views too! The bird was very cooperative,as it foraged along the muddy areas in close proximity to Semipalmated Plovers and overall seemed very comfortable. The bird foraged on both the southern and northern edges of the lake,a swell as was noted in flight, but never left the lake even as water levels rose slightly during our visit. We basically had the bird after as soon as we arrived from our 3.5 hour drive from Tacoma with 5 birders already standing with spotting scopes so that helped. The bird was striking and we will post our photos of the bird tomorrow, but wanted to post a short note to those of you that may be interested from far and abroad. Hopefully the bird will remain for many more birders to see it!

Good birding,
