Hello Tweets,

The adult WHITE-THROATED SPARROW made another presence today in our front yard as predicted amongst a small flock of "Oregon"Juncos. The bird remains quite "skittish",but at times comes out into the open to feed. The bird is an adult white-striped form, which is quite bright from any angle! We noticed just how elusive the White-throated Sparrow is especially since we live on a fairly busy street and it usually flushes up into thick cover when vehicles drive by before the other birds. It is pretty "big deal" for us to get a "good" sparrow since we live in general residential area with very little ground cover and shrubbery that can attract sparrows. Much of our "flora" has been planted into our yard,as far as native vegetation to attract birds, which does help alot. We are hoping the White-throated Sparrow will stay for awhile longer and have placed plenty of Chicken Scratch and crushed peanuts down for it and other ground dwellers. We took a few more photos of the bird and have added them onto our website replacing the photos taken yesterday of the bird. Late yesterday afternoon 2 Hermit Thrushes made their presence known in our front yard before flying off to another nearby yard.

We have placed 3 photos of the White-throated Sparrow onto our recent photo gallery, which can be viewed at the following link:

We'll continue to post if the bird stays around, although we won't be home for several days beginning tomorrow afternoon.

Good birding,
