It's really feeling like fall now on the Foothills Trail in Pierce County.
Warbler numbers are much reduced now, and sparrows are up. Had two good
birds today, the first being a Lapland Longspur in the pastures just west of
South Prairie, flying over and calling at the same time as several pipits.
Later I had a Swamp Sparrow calling along So Prairie-Carbon River Road near
the "REI" wetlands, where there were also 2 Solitary Sandpipers still
hanging around.

Calm; clear; 50-71ºF.

Violet-green Swallow (160): one migrating flock.

Yellow-rumped Warbler (23): Myrtle.

Townsend's Warbler (3)

SWAMP SPARROW (1): calling in dense thicket near the wetland.

LAPLAND LONGSPUR (1): flew over near flock of pipits, w of So Prairie.
