On June 6 a male LAWRENCE¹S GOLDFINCH visited a Toledo feeder, but did not
remain. A CARACARA was seen June 3 on the beach at Gearhart. It could not be
relocated. A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK is now visiting a feeder in Bandon.
During the past week a NORTHERN PARULA, a male BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, a
HERMIT WARBLER, two CATBIRDS and a PLUMBEOUS VIREO were at Malheur NWR
Headquarters. Another PLUMBEOUS VIREO was at Fields.
COMMON NIGHTHAWKS arrived during the week. Although many birds are still
moving through the main migratory period is apparently over.
On June 7 an EASTERN KINGBIRD was in Seaside. That day a GOLDEN EAGLE was
over Hwy 26 west of North Plains at the junction of Hwy 6. On June 2 two
BLACK TERNS were at the newly opened Tualatin River NWR. A loudly singing
LEAST FLYCATCHER is now on territory along the Pintail Marsh Boardwalk at
