My school is on spring break, so I made a BIG loop through South King
County. Almost hit 60 species - here's the stops that I made, and the
species I added as I went.
Home (Fairwood area of Renton)
White Crowned Sparrow
Dark Eyed Junco
Violet Green Swallow
Black River Riparian Forest
Great Blue Heron
Glaucous Winged Gull
Des Moines Beach Park
Saltwater State Park
Lake Fenwick (My first time there - what a great spot!)
Norther Rough-winged Swallow
Double Crested Cormorant
Yellow Rumped Warbler
Green River NRA
Frager Road Fields
Red Tailed Hawk
Royal Hills pipeline trail
Osprey (they've been back since at least 4/3)
Waited around at home for a Steller's Jay or Rufous Hummingbird to put me at
60, but no luck. Still, a lot of fun to get out and hear the birds singing.
Probably a half dozen or so songs out there that I didn't recognize,
especially over at Lake Fenwick.
Exercise your brain! Try Flexicon.
