I spent the weekend at a house on Willapa Bay (on the peninsula about 1/3 of
the way up from the south tip of Long Island) with non-birders, but of
course managed to keep an eye out.
On Sunday:
23 Trumpeter Swans flew by close (some calling).
5 Redheads with Greater and Lesser Scaup at a location that at low tide had
been worked for steamer clams by the harvesting crew.
Several thousand Dunlin and a few Western Sandpipers at mid-tide. The
spartina eradication may be paying off.
30 dowitchers flew by (presumably Long-billeds).
