While searching for Palm Warbler today (did find it YEAH!), we happened to
notice an interesting gull.

At mouth of Cedar Creek River park 11:30am today Ollie took photos of a
large 'dark slaty grey' backed gull. Area was foggy and so photographs are
also foggy. However, photos do show gull is larger than G-W gulls around
it. It has dark pink legs and large bill. Skin around pale eye is very
pink. It has large white mirror underside of P10. Head has winter flecking
over head with a bit more around eye giving it a slightly smudged eye look.
It looks like an adult Slaty-backed Gull is back and will hopefully spend
the winter here.
