Hello tweeties,

the most recently identified mystery bird, as all of you correctly identified, was an American Avocet, Recurvirostra americana;

i knew all of you would ID this bird successfully, but every once in awhile, I just want to share a gorgeous picture of a bird with you anyway. Besides, there are beginning birders out there who like to be successful in IDing birds, and who are likely to become inspired by one or another of these "flying field marks" as i sometimes refer to them.

today's mystery bird, thanks to photographer Lee Rentz, can be seen here;
