Hi Tweeters,

Just an early note to report that four Edmonds Yacht Club boats took
birders out on the Sound this morning as part of Puget Sound Bird
Fest at Edmonds. We motored to Point Wells to the south and then as
far north as Lund's Gulch. Some of the highlights were a BROWN
PELICAN, a good number of RHINOCEROS AUKLET AND PIGEON GUILLEMOT, a
RED-NECKED GREBE still in breeding plumage, all three SCOTERS, a RED-
THROATED LOON, 600-800 WESTERN GREBE between Shell Creek and Lund's
Gulch, CALIFORNIA, HEERMANN'S, GLAUCOUS-WINGED, RING-BILLED and
BONAPARTE'S GULL, BELTED KINGFISHER and one RED-NECKED PHALAROPE.
Weather was pleasant, no fog, and calm seas, which enhanced bird
viewing for all participants. The boat owners are gracious,
cooperative, and generous with their time and fuel. They help make
Bird Fest a success.
