Subject: [Tweeters] Any BB Woodpeckers at Elk Heights?

Has anyone seen any BLACKBACKED WOODPECKERS at the Elk Heights burn site
(near exit 93 off I-90) recently? We looked there unsuccessfully early in
the summer during Brian Bell's "Woodpeckers of Washington" class and I've
gone back a couple times since without success. Is it just because they are
uncommon, or has too much time elapsed since the fire so their beetle supply
has diminished?

Thanks,
