About 2 miles north of Havillah on Rd. there were many Horned Larks and a few Snow Buntings.

Many Mountain Bluebirds were seen scattered throughout the day.

A pair of Purple Finches were along Nealey Rd. Also there were the now expected Gray-crowned Rosy-finches, many Robins, Mountain Chickadees and American Goldfinches.

Bolster Rd. was quiet as far as birds, but there was an early butterfly of the Nymphalidae family.

Mary Ann Creek Rd. - got good views of Hairy Woodpecker pair and a few Pine Grosbeaks at the eastern end of China-Poland Rd. Then, in the same tree that I saw the Northern Pygmy Owl a week ago, there was a flock of Common Redpolls that flew ahead of me and would not land anywhere I could get good looks at them. They soon disappeared over a ridge to the north.

The road to the snow park was glare ice with a bit of moisture on top. With my Crown Victoria and studded tires I was sliding all over and turned around at the first driveway.

Maybe I'll get the Great Gray next trip. :'/

I finally got all of the pictures from last week up. I especially like this one:

Good birding to all,
