Birded the west end WWCo. and found the following:
Overview Pond:
AMERICAN AVOCET- 1
Killdeer - 5
Rough-winged Swallow - 2
WWRDelta:
Caspian Tern - 5
Swan sp - 3 with heads tucked
American Wigeon - 2000+
N. Pintail - lots
Green-winged Teal - only 50 or so
Mallards - hundreds
Western Gull - 2 adults (came in to chumming)
Herring Gull - 5
lots of California and Ring-billed Gulls everywhere - island is full of
nesting birds.
Dunlin - 285
Wallula Grain Terminal:
Canvasback - 50
Redhead - 65
Common Goldeneye - 52
Ring-necked Duck - 6
Greater Scaup - 40
Lesser Scaup - 100+
Eurasian Wigeon - 3
American Wigeon - 800
N. Pintail - 40
Western Grebe - 2
Bald Eagle - 1
Say's Phoebe - 1
Coots - many - - -
McNary NWR display pond:
CINNAMON TEAL- 1 drake
Tree Swallows - many
Violet-green Swallows - many
Rough-winged Swallows - 25
CLIFF SWALLOWS- 10+
Virginia Rail - 4
Yellow-headed Blackbirds are back and "singing" as usual
Marsh Wrens - bursting with song on every cattail - it seemed!
Ruddy Duck - 1 drake - wearing the rufous coat and blue bill!!
Cooper's Hawk - 1 resident bird
TRUMPETER SWANS- 3 - still there.
Penninsula HMU:
Double-crested Cormorant - 200 on nest
Great Blue Heron - 30 on nest
Canada Goose - 1 on nest in middle of colony
Greater Scaup - 40+
Common Merganser - 4
Bald Eagle - 2 subadult, 1 adult
Horned Grebe - 36
EARED GREBE- 3
Ruddy Duck - 6
Herring Gull - 8
Glaucous-winged Gull - 4
Western Gull - 2
Two Rivers HMU:
Greater White-fronted Geese - 46 in cornfield
GLAUCOUS GULL- 1
RED-BREASTED MERGANSER- 1 male still present
Caspian Tern - 2
Eared Grebe - 1
Horned Grebe - 35
Western Grebe - 50
Pied-billed Grebe - 8
Bald Eagle - 3 adults, 4 subadults
Herring Gull - 6
Glaucous-winged Gull - 5
American Wigeon - 40
Ruddy Duck - 4
Gadwall - 6
lots of swallows flying over water
Badger Island
American White Pelicans - 50 on nesting island - also scattered around other
ponds.

These additions put our county year list up to 148 - still looking for
Osprey, Swainson's Hawk and Black-necked Stilt.
