I had some good migration going on in a half-hour walk-around here on
the Upper Columbia Academy campus this morning. Here's the highlights:
Hermit Thrush - 1
GRAY FLYCATCHER - 1
Dusky Flycatcher - 2
Townsend's Warbler - 2
Orange-crowned Warbler - 7
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 1
Yellow Warbler - 1
Warbling Vireo - 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 3
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW - 1
Chipping Sparrow - 2
WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL - 2 still here
I finally had my camera on me when I ran into the crossbills today.
One is a female, and the other is a very yellow bird, must be a
subadult male, that is almost continually singing. I'll post photos
soon to www.flickr.com/photos/nightjar . I'll watch for breeding
behavior but so far just two very active and vocal birds that really
seem out of place.
