I just added #226 to my life list by finding the Northern Waterthrush that was reported at Twin Ponds Park in Shoreline. With Bill's directions in hand I arrived at the exposed mud and found another birder who pointed out where he had seen the waterthrush.
His report gave me incentive to watch & wait for just over an hour before I saw a bit of movement that turned out to be my target.
The bird seems to be very flitty. I saw its back side as he stretched his wings and then hopped up on a 3-4" diagonal branch then disappeared into the undergrowth. The man who was there when I arrived reported that he had seen it for a total of perhaps 5 seconds in the past hour.
Talk about summer doldrums, the NOWA was the ONLY bird I saw while I was there. Heard onlys House Finch, BC Chickadee, and N. Flicker.
Thanks to Bill Boyington for his excellent directions and to Marc Breuninger for initially finding & reporting this bird.
If anyone got a picture of this bird I'd sure like to have a copy.
