What time of year were you there and how hot was it ?  SE Brazil was 
lovely in mid-October of 2007, but I fear the heat at Pantanal, 
Cristolino & Manaus.  Also, you didn't mention Intervales NP SE of Sao Paulo with it's incredible Long-trained Nightjars.  Also don't miss lovely Guappi Assu Bird Lodge near Rio.

One of these days I'll find time to write up my trip report.
