Though we are not to the north of you, some folks may wish to know that we
are already seeing shorebirds! There was a Greater Yellowlegs and a Lesser
Yellowlegs in a pond on the Wahluke Slope (part of the Hanford Reach
National Monument, Franklin county) on June 30. The pond had recently been
cleared of bio-invasives and hopefully will be checked this "fall" to assess
shorebird use. The area is closed to the public but the news is good for
all shorebird enthusiasts to know. They are moving.

On another note, it's July now - can fall migration be far behind?
