Hi All: This morning (11 Aug) there were 50+ phalaropes close enough to the ferry to id as red-neckeds. There were many more small groups and flocks flying around to the west toward Pt Defiance (the point). Most of these are probably red-neckeds, but there can be a red phalarope in the flocks (they look slightly larger). I was on the 8 am ferry and a rip current was flowing east with a -1.2 low tide at 9:57. The bird were in the current. They would likely be observable with a scope from the overlooks at Pt Defiance.
Also 1 rhino, Caspian terns, California & Bonaparte's gulls.
