[Tweeters] Big Day - kind of - Stevens County

I spent today birding the southern half of Stevens County. I did not set
out to have a big day - especially in light of the rainy and breezy
conditions - but it did kind of turn out to be a big day. Here are some of
the fun species encountered:

Deer Lake: Common Loon, Red necked Grebe, Townsend's Solitaire, Evening

Newton Rd: 12 BLACK NECKED STILTS and a Greater Yellowlegs, VAUX'S SWIFT

Cottonwood Rd: The flooded fields continue to be loaded with a diversity
and abundance of waterfowl. A male Eurasian Wigeon continues to be present.
Cinnamon Teal, Redhead, Ruddy Duck, many Wilson's Snipe. FOS House Wren.
Several Red naped Sapsuckers, Yellow Rumped Warblers, many Bald Eagles, Red
necked Grebe, Horned Grebe

Chewelah: Merlin at City Park

Waitt's Lake: Common Loon, Red Necked Grebe, Sora, Virginia Rail, Ruffed
Grouse, Yellow Rumped Warbler, Ruby crowned Kinglet, Chesnut backed
Chickadee, White crowned Sparrow

Spokane Indian Reservation (Martha Boardman Rd): FOS Chipping Sparrow,
Yellow Rumped Warbler, Western Bluebird, Cassin's Finch, Red Crossbill,

Long Lake Dam: White throated Swift, Vaux's Swift, PEREGRINE FALCON,

Hwy 291 along Lake Spokane: Vesper Sparrow, Mountain Bluebird, Canyon Wren.

Total: 100 species
