When I lived in Quinault (on the real wet side) we used to say we had 2 seasons: “the rainy season” and the “not quite as rainy season”. But then I suppose that is why they call it a rain forest.

My favorite description of the year is from my family in Phoenix.
4 Seasons of Arizona:
Almost Summer
Summer
Still Summer
Christmas

Amid all this talk about the arrival of Spring, I would be remiss if I did not remind everyone of the four seasons of the PNW.
Autumn: Labor Day through Thanksgiving
Holiday Season: Thanksgiving through New Year's Day
Rainy Season: New Year's Day through Junuary 30th
Summer: Four randomly scattered days between Junuary 30th and Labor Day
Whenever my friends start waxing poetic about Spring, I remind them that we have yet to get through Mayvember and Junuary before we can begin to think about warm weather.
