Volunteers are needed to monitor a Vaux's Swift roosting site on JBLM
(formerly Ft. Lewis and McChord AFB). Work will be done in evenings, during
the Spring migration, which will be from approximately mid-April through
mid-June. Work would entail counting birds entering a chimney around sunset
on at least one evening per week. Volunteers would be required to use their
own vehicles, but funds are available for at least partial reimbursement of
travel during this Spring migration, only. Due to military security issues
only U.S. citizens or Nationals should apply. A background check is
required. Already having base access is a plus. If you do not already have
access to the base, I can help you obtain access. Contact
Burney.Huff at mindspring.com for more information or to volunteer.
