A hummingbird was discovered at a friends feeder on Monday in Camas, WA that was smaller than the many Anna’s in the yard.

It had a whitish breast and throat with very little markings, a slightly de-curved bill, a tail that was shorter than the wings, no rufous, a diffused marking behind the eye leading down the side of the head and as you can see in the one photo almost equally long white tips to 3 feathers in the tail.

The these 2 photos are the bird in question in the back yard, lighting was not good and a male hummer kept the rest moving therefore not allowing much for photography at the feeder.

Eric Bjorkman took this photo in the front yard. We are not positive it is the same bird but fits some of the same patterns.
http://home.comcast.net/~littlebirder/Unknown2c.jpg could be the same bird or a different one

If you were to look only at the tail feathers, would you call it a Costa’s? or an Anna’s?

Please let us know what you think about the hummingbird.
