Hello Birders,
This year we have been having a lot of high winds, not to mention the
high volume of rainfall leading to water everywhere.

Your help is needed as many swans are hitting the lines as a result of the
high winds. If you see an injured or dead swan PLEASE take the time to
report it immediately.
You can call the Swan Hotline: 360-466-4345 x266 and leave a message.

If the swan is in south Snohomish County, King or other locations in this
direction you can call me directly: 425-787-0258
We have volunteers that can pick them up.

It is important to report as many power line collisions as possible so the
power companies know where problems are. They can mark the lines and reduce
the chances of it happening again.
If you find birds of any kind dead from power line collision you can also
contact me.

In the past 2 weeks 9 swans have died on power lines in the Silvana area.
Snohomish PUD is now working to get the lines marked. The floodwaters have
distributed swans and other waterfowl quite differently this year. New swan
use areas have happened and those lines were previously not a problem, and
now they are.

THANK YOU for being eyes to help reduce mortality of all birds from power
line collisions.
