Hello all,

I just had a most unexpected encounter with a Canyon Wren in the middle of
dense forest on the trail to Snoqualmie Mountain. It was calling repeatedly
and gave a few full songs, and eventually came within about 10 feet. It now
seems to have moved upslope towards much more suitable habitat.

Location is the Snoqualmie Mountain trail, just before the turnoff for the
Guye Peak trail (a little over 1 mile up the trail). This trail is accessed
from the Alpental ski area parking lot. Directions can be found here:
http://www.summitpost.org/snoqualmie-mountain/150668. Note: this is a
climber's trail, and is steep and rough.

Good birding,
Matt Dufort
