Tweets,

Sorry for the late report but my goof off schedule has been pretty
full the last couple of days.

Wednesday morning 50some of us enjoyed a great day at Nisqually. The
weather was great and it was spring break so we had several families
join us for the walk. We had a 1.6 low tide at 11:47 so not much water
out in the reclamation area.

Highlights included FOY COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, and ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERS. The ORANGE-CROWNS were heard across from the visitor center
and along the boardwalk. The COMMON YELLOWTHROAT were everywhere along
the sloughs that you would expect them to be. One YELLOWTHROAT near
the visitor center overlook got too close to where a SONG SPARROW is
building a nest and got run off. We also had WOOD DUCKS, HOODED
MERGANSERS, and PIED-BILLED GREBE there.

Fresh water ponds are drying up and waterfowl numbers are diminishing
and passerines are beginning to show up. We've located three RUFOUS
HUMMINGBIRD nests that I'm not sure I can find next week as they are
so well hidden. I'm sure we will locate more as the weeks go on.

For the day I had 49 species and now have 94 for the year.

A couple of RED-EARED SLIDERS were sun bathing and there were a couple
of COTTON-TAILED RABBIT around.

Until next week......
