I checked out the Snowy Egret spot in Fife this morning where the Snowy
Egret continues. The habitat there is great and it was having success
foraging so it may well hang out awhile. There were also 2 Eastern
Kingbirds, a Black Phoebe, 2 Green Herons, a few Purple Martins, and a
Lesser Yellowlegs.

Good birding,
Ryan Merrill

- Comments: "Previously reported rarity originally found by Bruce LaBar on
Sat, July 30 at nearby retention pond. Thanks to Laurel Parshell for the
specific directions: Park at curve at 6236 39th St E and walk to left end
of railing then walk straight down on social path trough cattails- bring
rain boots! Scan marsh and snags from here or center high ground but be
ready to war through foot deep muck. The SNEG was foraging on the mud when
I first arrived but quickly flew to a low snag on the far side of the
marsh, around 8 pm it followed the great blue herons to the far NE side
where they appear to be roosting in the large cottonwoods."
