A real treat while watching the Bald Eagles along the Nooksack River is watching and listening to the amazing song of the American Dipper. I've seen one the last few visits but this time I was fortunate to hear the very long melodious song. I'll attempt to get the video available at some point. The bobbing motion and white flashing eyes were entertaining too. When it found a orange salmon egg it would fly off into a protected area to eat it.

The river level seems to being staying low even with the slight warming giving the eagles access to abundant food. Amusing to see salmon carcasses hanging from trees or random places in fields.

Heard on the radio a salmon caused a power outage - presumably dropped onto wires by an eagle.
