[Tweeters] Binoculars for kids

I have grandchildren who are currently 7, 5, and 3, all of whom are fascinated with my very expensive optics. They are not really careful with possessions either (although getting better as they get older), so I am really interested in the responses to this question. They do seem to be somewhat interested in birds and say they are lucky to have a gramma who can identify birds.

I do an outdoor education program with my first graders at Gold Bar Elementary and we received a grant to purchase binoculars for bird watching. We are looking for something that is sturdy but actually works. Thanks!
