Hello all,
I was in Stanwood this morning and visited the water treatment plant
in hopes of relocating the Black Phoebe that Steve Giles found on
Sunday. After much searching I finally relocated the bird on the large
circular concrete containers next to the large building. I went back
for my camera, but by the time I returned the bird have moved
somewhere else and I could not relocate it.

This is, I believe, only the second Black Phoebe ever found in
Snohomish County.

Access to the area can sometimes be gained by buzzing at the front
gate and signing in at the first building you come to. If not, you can
scan a portion of the area from the northeast corner near the traffic
light.

Other good birds for the morning included a Western Kingbird at Eide
Rd and a (late?) Horned Grebe on the treatment ponds, Tides weren't in
my favor and its getting late, but there were zero shorebirds at Eide
Rd. Not even a Killdeer.
