Hey Tweets!

We spent Father's Day as a family in Chelan, visiting Camas Meadows and the Leavenworth area, and I stayed for an extra day of birding today. My morning was spent on and around Entiat Valley Road, which was plenty birdy, but I had thoughts of making it to the Lady of the Lake to chase a couple good sightings. I took Mud Creek Road, which was decent enough for 90 percent of it, and nearly killed me during the last 10 percent. The highlights there were Ruffed Grouse (a pair in the road), a Red-naped Sapsucker nest, and a Northern Goshawk!

I made it to Field Springs Landing just in time for the express boat to stehekin and sleeeeept most of the way. I rented a bike and took the road to a marsh in the first mile or so where a Least Flycatcher was chebekking away. I assumed from there that I would be heading all the way up to Harlequin Bridge to look for Harlequin ducks, but found them earlier down the road on Stehekin River. With a little under twenty minutes left before the express left, I booked it down on the bike as fast as I could (okay... I stopped for pie at the bakery.) and just made the boat before they pulled away.

Wasn't until ten minutes later that I realized my camera was still with the bike. Whoops! We've been reunited.

Happy birding!
