Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 10. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

A BLUE JAY was photographed March 6 at a Eugene feeder. The South Beach St.
Pk. MOUNTAIN PLOVER, the Hatfield Science Center BULLOCK¹S ORIOLE, and the
Benton County PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER continue to be seen.

MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES continue to be seen in the Willamette Valley. Early
CHIPPING SPARROWS are now being reported. On March 8 a migration of several
thousand ROBINS were in Toledo east of Newport.

On March 8 a MOCKINGBIRD was seen in Rainier. The Sauvie Island MOCKINGBIRD
continues to be seen. A SURF SCOTER was seen March 7 on Bybee Lake in North
Portland. During the week up to four WESTERN BLUEBIRDS and one MOUNTAIN
BLUEBIRD were at Powell Butte Park in Gresham.

On March 2 a BARN SWALLOW was at the Philomath Sewage Ponds. Two WESTERN
GREBES were there March 5. A PRAIRIE FALCON was seen March 6 at Camas Swale
near Creswell. On March 8 among a large swallow flock at Fords Pond near
sutherlin were a CLIFF SWALLOW and two ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS.

On March 4 an early BANK SWALLOW was at Ladd Marsh near LaGrande. A lone
BOHEMIAN WAXWING was among a large waxwing flock at the Burns Cemetery.
