This morning at about 7:30 Sherry Bottoms found a WHITE-TAILED KITE at the
Vashon-Maury Island Land Trust's Matsuda Farm property on Vashon Island,
and the bird was relocated later in the morning by the Vashon-Maury Island
Audubon monthly bird walk group around 9:00. It flew in from the south and
perched prominently at the top of a tall Douglas-fir at the southern edge
of the property, near the reservoir on the south parcel of the fields. See
the eBird report below for a few ID photos:

For anyone unfamiliar with the area who is attempting to find this bird,
the best way to access the Matsuda property is from the Open Space for Arts
and Community (the "O Space"), which abuts it on the north. Here is a
Google Map that illustrates this, with the O Space parcel highlighted in
blue, and the Matsuda property in red:

To get there, turn west on 188th Street from Vashon Highway, then take a
left on 103rd Avenue and follow it to the end to reach the O Space parking
lot. From there, go past the buildings to the south, and you will see a
trail heading toward the Matsuda fields that leads to a gap in the fence --
this is close to the midpoint of the southern parcel boundary in the map
above.
