I am the first person to think safety first.. but I also have to chuckle a bit on this.. as they are not supposed to ever shoot straight or down and should always know what they are shooting at.. the other side to me laughing a bit is, as you know, duck hunters are very thick there at Eide along with pheasant hunters. The pheasant hunters wear orange, the duck hunters were camo.. always camo.. no orange and try and purposely blend in.. so if accidents are going to happen, it's probably not going to happen to some person with a large camera or scope standing in the middle of a field.. just sayin'.

The best thing of course is, respect each others area.. and not going right into someones hunting circle as they too should not fire in or near where there is a crowd of people regardless of what they are doing.

My 3 cents [😊]

Sammy

Subject: [Tweeters] Safety at Eide Road

Tweets,

I was talking to one of the hunters our at Eide road today and he mentioned how difficult it was for him to see some of the birder/photographers out in the field and was a bit worried that someone might accidentally get shot because of this. He recommended for safety sake if we head out from the parking lots and into the fields that we make ourselves visible. I told him I'd pass this on. Looks like pheasant season continues through the 30th, if your heading out while the season is still going keep this in mind and bring a bit of orange or bright clothing to put on and stay safe.

Bruce
