I, too, have been fortunate to bird several times with both Jack Jeffrey and Hawaii Forest and Trails (HF&T). Both are excellent, and will work diligently using their experience with the endemic bird vocalizations, behavior and knowing where to look in the dense vegetation and tree canopy. Both will give you more than a fun, full day of great bird sightings...you'll also get a whole lot of natural history as well. And, tips about other places to bird on the island.

With Jack, your group will be small (5 or fewer) and larger with HF&T (12 or less). Both provide lunch, snacks and beverages. Both know a lot about a lot, and are both smart and a ton of fun. I believe Jack donates some or all of his fee to a local educational foundation. Many of his amazing photos are in the Hawaii Audubon field guide.
You'll want to go back again and again with both Jack and HF&T.

Happy Trails! Sharon
