According to the West Seattle blog, there's a herring spawning event going
on off Alki over the last couple of days:

I've seen some small groups of gulls and scoters feeding (20 or so each) but
no large flocks. There are quite a few Brant still around as well.

In the early afternoon yesterday at my yard on the lip of the Fairmount
ravine, I saw/heard 37 species over about an hour and a half or so, a FOY
Pacific-slope Flycatcher, four warbler species, Hutton's Vireo calling
energetically and an Osprey with a fish as large as its body. Western
Tanagers have been calling for more than a week and yesterday several were
responding to a bug hatch, doing a lot of flycatching.
