Tweets,

Today 40 of us enjoyed a great day at Nisqually. It was overcast at the
start but soon turned sunny. Part of the boardwalk to the twin barns is
closed due to tree damage from last weeks storm, but other than that things
went well. We had a -0.4 low tide at 12.26 so lots of mud showing.

Highlights included FOY BLUE-WINGED TEAL, CEDAR WAXWINGS, WESTERN TANAGERS,
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, STELLER'S JAY, and BAND-TAILED PIGEON. A really good
day.

Most of the action was near the twin barns area were most of the FOYs were
seen. The BLUE-WINGED TEAL was on the pond south of the twin barns and was
seen near CINNAMON TEAL and GREEN-WINGED TEAL. We also had some late
CACKLING GEESE and 3 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE inside the estuary dike.

Not sure what the folks who walked the estuary boardwalk saw but they will
post on ebird.

It appears the GREAT HORNED OWLETS have abandoned the nest tree and one was
seen farther back in the woods as was 1 of the adults.

For the day I had 45 species and now have 106 for the year. The only mammal
I saw was a COTTON TAILED RABBIT.

Until next week......
