[Tweeters] Cockatoos Are As Crafty As Crows

A new study groups cockatoos into the “innovative tool makers and users”
club alongside crows and chimpanzees -- leaving human children far behind.

A research team in Vienna set out to investigate how cockatoos approach
challenges such as those posed by the puzzle toys solved by Betty the New
Caledonian crow and her friends. To examine these questions, the
researchers designed a similar series of tests to those used to test
corvids. Basically, the researchers found that Goffin's cockatoos are just
as crafty as corvids:
