All,
The Red-footed Booby is still present, usually at the Marine Science Pier
pilings inside the tiny protected area at the pier, and other times on
the *Hawaiian
Chieftain* wires or booms along the Port Townsend waterfront. It spends
most of the day at these locations preening. It does go foraging and diving
in 20-minute bouts about 4-5 times each day.
I've written up some of the backstory, as well as what some seabird experts
think about its age (14-18 months) and its origin (possibly Kiribati).
