Yes, the bill ring.  A rather notorious name for this duck since the neck
ring is very difficult to see.  10-15 years ago someone at AOS sent in a
proposal to change the name to Ring-billed Duck.  Fortunately it was not
accepted.  As for me,I love   idiosyncrasies    Bob OBrien  Portland
