Overheard yesterday at Point Robinson Park:

(Swainson’s Thrush singing)

Man 1: “Rewoo-rewoo-rewoo (imitation of SWTH) I really like that bird song.  What bird is that?”

Man 2: “I think it’s a Whip-poor-will.”

(Pause)

Man 2: “No, I don’t actually know.”

Woman: “I think it was a crow.”

Man 2: “What?  A crow??”

Man 1: “A crow says ‘Caw caw’.”

Woman: “Well, that’s what I heard, ‘Caw caw’.”

(Thrush sings)

Man 1: “No, that song.”

Woman: “Oh, I don’t know what that is.  I wish I hadn’t lost my phone, I could do bird ID.”

Man 1: “Well, I like it.  I wish I knew what it was.”
