The event, a panel discussion on Data Ethics Policy in Higher Education, was streamed live on AAU TV. More information on the panel is at https://ethicaldatainitiative.org/2023/05/12/data-ethics-policy-in-higher-education/ The lively panel discussion took place between African experts in International Development, Data Science, Technology and Education, and touched on important questions such as: - Who owns our data? Who benefits from our data? - How we might avoid the pitfalls of feudalism and colonialism in this new and constantly evolving landscape. - Whether, and why, it might be time for data ethics to become an integral part of the education curriculum in schools and universities. - How can we build capacity for Data Ethics in universities and industry. The recording of the event is available to watch at https://ethicaldatainitiative.org/2023/05/26/successful-launch-to-the-campaign-for-data-ethics-in-education/ With hundreds of universities across the world already supporting our Campaign for Data Ethics in Higher Education, there is huge momentum building. Please support our Campaign for Data Ethics in Higher Education. If you are working towards, or planning on working towards, including Data Ethics in your university curriculum ? or are planning on expanding your current offering ? we would like to hear from you. First, I created a clone environment and then I tried to install Spyder. This failed so I checked for missing dependency files. Spyder listed 41 dependency files and I checked them one by one to verify if they met the version requirements for Spyder. Twenty-two files required installation to meet the dependency requirements. I installed them using the package manager and the Spyder installation still fails. ArcGIS Pro is using python version 3.9.16 and it says that version 3.11.3 is available, but I wasn't able to upgrade with the Package manager. I'm not sure if that is a firm dependency for a Spyder installation. ArcGIS Pro isn't proving friendly like Linux RPM for installing packages. I wanted to contact ESRI directly on this, but the UW license doesn't allow me to ask ESRI for help. Suggestions? I captured the installation log file, and I made an Excel spreadsheet for the dependency files. I fear that the dependency files have additional dependency files, and I could chase this issue for days. I can send the log file R. Is there any way to activate it through a UW license? I came across the credits specifications here, and from my understanding I can request credits to be filled into my account.
